Officer elections will be Monday, February 5, 2024.   Members wishing to hold any office must have give a speech for any office they choose to run in.  A member may only hold one office at a time.  They may only hold that office for two consecutive years at a time.  Members seeking to run for office must have a parents or guardians support and permission. 


A member running for office must be able to: 

  • Attend 10 meetings
  • Attend Dusty Riders Officer Training
  • Perform the duties of the office
  • Be a member in good standing
  • Be a leader and example to other members
  • Participate in set up and tear down at meetings, banquet, and 4-H functions

 Offices 

  • President  (must be a 2nd year or above member)
  • Vice President  (must be a 2nd year or above member)
  • Secretary  (must be a 2nd year or above member)
  • Treasurer  (must be a 2nd year or above member)
  • Safety Officer
  • Recreation Officer
  • Reports Officer
  • Refreshment Officer


President

  • Sets and monitors the goals of the club.
  • Runs club meetings.
  • Appoints committee chairmen.
  • Delegates tasks as necessary.
  • Takes the lead in helping the club develop projects.
  • Runs meetings following Roberts Rules


Vice President

  • Serves the president, other club officers, committees and the general membership.
  • Learns and helps with the duties of the president in order to fill in or take over as necessary.


Secretary

  • Takes minutes at meetings.
  • Keeps records.
  • Maintains all important files for the club.
  • Collects reports from the committees’ chairpersons.
  • Emails Jessica Adamson to post minutes to website


Treasurer

  • Monitors the club’s money.
  • Helps prepare and maintain the club budget.
  • Reports to the club at each meeting on the status of the club treasury.


Health & Safety Officer

  • Provide some type of health/safety information at club meetings. This could be a scheduled guest speaker, health tip of the day (can be short), provide one health and safety group activity.
  • Provide the club advisors with any requested information.


Recreation Officer

  • Coordinate and provide recreation (games, crafts, activities)
  • Assists advisor in providing games at meetings
  • Manages gaming budget and organizes props for activities

Reports Officer

  • Coordinate and log members mandatory reports
  • Reminds members of their report
  • Report this to the organizational advisor for year end awards

Refreshment Officer

  • Coordinate and log refreshment volunteers
  • Reminds volunteers two days prior to meeting about refreshments.
